Rush County (Kansas)

Rush County is a county located in the state of Kansas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is La Crosse.

Geography

The County is located just west of the geographic center and has an area of 1861 square kilometers, of which one square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Ellis County, Russell County, Barton County, Pawnee County and Ness County.

History

Rush County was formed on 26 February 1867. It was named after Alexander Rush, an officer in the American Civil War.
