Russians in China

The Russian minority in China (in Chinese俄罗斯 族) is one of the 56 ethnic groups that are recognized by the People's Republic of China. At the census in the year 2010 15.393 Russians were counted.

History

The first documented Russian citizens who migrated to China, were descendants of the Cossacks, who joined the Manchu Imperial Guard in 1685. The really significant immigration of Russians took in 1897 during the construction of the Chinese Eastern Railway its course. The tip reached the immigration from Russia in the aftermath of the October Revolution, especially in the city of Harbin ( Heilongjiang Province, Manchuria ). In the following years after the founding of the People's Republic of the majority of Russians emigrated to Australia and Southeast Asia.

Since the year 1990, the road has Yabao Lu (雅宝 路, Yǎbǎo Lù ) in the National Community Yabaoli (雅宝 里 社区, Yǎbǎolǐ Shèqū ) of the road district Chaowai (朝外 街道, Chaowai jiedao) in Chaoyang District, the capital Beijing to a center of the Sino- Russian trade, in particular the developed textile and fur trade. This led to the establishment of numerous Russian entrepreneurs and traders.
