Geography

The place is in front Stubai Valley, the sunny side of the left Ruetz. The municipality lies at an altitude of about 1000 m and has an area of ​​27.38 square kilometers. The municipal area also includes large parts of the famous hiking and skiing area Schlick.

A public transport connection is made through the Stubai Valley Railway on the route Innsbruck- Fulpmes. The larch forests of the Telfer Wiesen with a stop for Stubaitalbahn are a popular destination.

History

Finds from the Early Bronze Age show of an early settlement of the Telfer area. 1976, a cave was exposed in the region Gallhof during road construction. Center of the municipality is the village of Mieders. It is located about 12 kilometers south of the city center of Innsbruck, 3 ½ miles into the valley in the Stubai Valley.
