Tiruvottiyur

Tiruvottiyur (Tamil: திருவௌற்றியூர் Tiruvoṟṟiyūr [ ˌ t̪iɾɯʋot riju ː ː ɾ ], also Tiruvotriyur, Thiruvottiyur ) is a district of Chennai (Madras ), the capital of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Tiruvottiyur is one of 15 zones ( zones ) of Chennai and comprises 14 districts ( wards ).

Tiruvottiyur is located in the north of Chennai, about ten kilometers north of the city center on the coast of the Gulf of Bengal. By Chennaier suburban train (Chennai Suburban Railway) and numerous city buses Tiruvottiyur is connected to the city center of Chennai.
