Tisens

Tisens (Italian Tesimo ) is a municipality with 1872 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in South Tyrol (Italy). Tisens located in the Adige valley south of Merano.

Tisens and most of its fractions lie on a plateau west of the river, about 350 meters above the valley floor. Only Gfrill and Platzer lie on the mountain Tisner Gall, clearly separated from the main valley of the Adige River to the west at an altitude of over 1000 meters.

Particularly well known is the village by the Tisner chestnuts. Every year this is a great festival in October, which bears the name " Keschtn Riggl ".
