University of Connecticut

The University of Connecticut (also known as UConn ) is a state university located in the village near Storrs Mansfield, about 45 kilometers east of Hartford in Connecticut, USA. In addition to the main campus in Storrs, there are five regional offices in Groton, West Hartford, Stamford, Torrington and Waterbury. The Faculty of Law is located in Hartford, medical and zahmedizinische faculty in Farmington. History

The University of Connecticut was founded as Storrs Agricultural School in 1881. After several name changes, the University in 1939 received its current name. In the 1960s, the Faculty of Medicine in Farmington was established.

Sports

The sports team of the UConn Huskies are the. The mascot of the team is a husky named Jonathan. The mascot was baptized in 1933 after the former Governor Jonathan Trumbull to that name. The University is a member of the American Athletic Conference since 2013.
