Vanovice

Vanovice ( German Wanowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers south of Velké Opatovice and belongs to Okres Blansko.

Geography

Vanovice located at the southern foot of the Podorlická pahorkatina ( Podorlicko ) in the designated as Small Hanna northern part of the Bosko brázda. The village is located on the left side of the creek Semic, which rises on the western outskirts. Southwest of the Nad Amerikou collected ( 553 m), in the northwest of Čertovec ( 533 m) and the Kamenná svatba ( 589 m). East of Vanovice runs the route of the unfinished Reichsautobahn Vienna -Breslau. Behind the railway line between Chornice and Boskovice, the nearest railway station is named Svetla u Boskovic.

Neighboring towns are Velka Roudka and Borotín in the north, Uhřice and Cetkovice in the northeast, Svetla and Mořicův Dvůr in the east, Šebetov, Knínice u Boskovic and Vážany the southeast, Sudice, Bacov and Pamětice in the south, Drvalovice the southwest, Kochov and Dvorsko in the west and Novičí, Na Chlumské, Svárov, Bezděčí and Malá Roudka in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in the year 1176th In older writings, the village was called Ivanovice or Ejvanovice. The owner of the place changed frequently. One of them was in the 16th century by Christoph Hardegg who became a Lutheran. In 1540 Vanovice received the first Protestant pastor. After the Battle of White Mountain in 1622, the parish became a Catholic again. Although in the same year the Protestants were expelled, Catholicism found little support among the population. After Josephine Toleration Patent 35 families known to the Protestant denomination, only eight remained Catholic. The Protestant inhabitants were already looking at 1782 Emperor Joseph II to grant a church building. On October 15, 1782 a provisional Protestant house of worship was dedicated in Vanovice. 1784 originated in Vanovice a Protestant school. From 1828 on, began on the eastern outskirts of the construction of a large church, which was largely financed as collections of the Protestant inhabitants of the area. 500 florins donated the Prince Kukaňský, a Catholic. The iron drums in the towers was a gift from the Queen. After the construction of the second church formed around the two churches centers.

After the abolition of patrimonial Vanovice formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Boskovice. With the beginning of 1961 Vanovice was assigned to the Okres Blansko and also incorporated Drvalovice.

The municipality consists of the villages Vanovice Drvalovice ( Drbalowitz ) and Vanovice ( Wanowitz )
