Yamashiro Province

The Yamashiro Province (Japanese山城 国, Yamashiro no kuni ) was an old province of Japan. The area is now part of the southern part of Kyoto prefecture on the island of Honshu.

After Gokishichidō graduation she was one of the interior provinces ( Kinai ). 794 was Heian - kyō, present-day Kyoto, the seat of the imperial court and in the Muromachi period, the seat of the Ashikaga shogunate.
