1927 World Figure Skating Championships

The World Figure Skating Championships 1927 took place for the men's competition on 5 and 6 February 1927 in Davos, Switzerland, for the ladies competition on 19 and 20 February 1927 in Oslo, Norway, and for the pair competition on 22 and 23 February 1927 in Vienna, Austria, instead.

Sonja Henie won her first of ten world titles in a row. Even after the compulsory figures Herma Szabo had clearly just Henie, the Norwegian defeated but in the end the majority of the Norwegian judges. Three of the five judges were from Norway, one from Germany and one from Austria. The three Norwegians put Henie in the first place, the other two judges Szabó, just as they proceeded with Henies countrywoman Karen Simensen who won so before Ellen Brockhöft bronze. This defeat disillusioned Herma Szabo so much that she promptly ended her career.
