1957–58 French Rugby Union Championship
The season 1957/58 was the 59th staging of the French rugby union championship. They included 56 teams in the top league ( of today's top 14).
The championship was divided into two phases. It began with the group phase in which eight teams played in six groups against each other. The top five in each group and the two best runners- sixth moved into the K - o.Runde. This was followed by sixteenth, eighth, quarter and semi-finals. In the final game, which was held in Toulouse on May 18, 1958 at the Stadium Municipal, clashed the two semi-final winners and played for the Bouclier de Brennus. Here, the FC Lourdes prevailed against SC Mazamet and won for the sixth time the champion.
