Stade Montois

Stade Montois is a rugby union club based in the French town of Mont -de- Marsan in the Landes department. He is represented in the second highest league Pro D2 and plays its home games at the Stade Guy -Boniface from. The greatest success is the championship title in 1963.

History

While Stade Montois is a polysportiver club with 28 different departments, but Rugby Union has always had by far the most important. After winning several regional titles in the interwar period, the team reached the national peak in the 1940s. 1949 was the first time in Stade Montois Cup finals. The game against Castres Olympique ended in a draw 3-3 after extra time, why repeat was due one week later; this one lost but then with 3:14.

1953 and 1959 reached Stade Montois the finals again, but lost against FC Lourdes or the Racing Club de France. Between 1960 and 1962 they won three times in succession the Challenge Yves du Manoir prestigious. 1963 was Stade Montois again in the final, won against U.S. Dax and took the first and only championship. The club had in the sequence, although not of great importance more, but the juniors department has produced many famous international.

The League team of the association football section repeatedly attained the statewide Main Round in the cup competition ( Coupe de France). From it went forth with Jacques Foix also a later national team, in 1949, still at Stade Montois, with the French A- Youth - selection Junior European Champion. 2013/14 kick the soccer players of the Montoises who dispute their home games at the Stade de l' Argenté, in the fourth division.
