1966–67 Albanian Superliga

Kategoria e Pare The 1966/67 (in a sense: First League ) was the 29th staging of the Albanian Football Championship and was hosted by the National Football Association Federata Shqiptare e Futbollit.

Course of the season

The League included as in the Vorsaisons twelve teams. 1965/66 KF Erzeni Shijak was relegated from the Kategoria e Pare, for the new season KS Luftëtari Gjirokastra rose after two years of abstinence and again in the first division. Titleholder was 17 Nëntori Tirana.

The championship was played in a regular season with round-trip round. Each team met twice against every other team. There was not a relegated this season, since the league was expanded to 14 teams for the new season. But one day after the match in front of a record crowd in Qemal - Stafa Stadium, a meeting of the national football association FhSF took place. This decided on the basis of " improper appearance " of the teams to count the match with 0-3 against both clubs. In addition, the last three games of both clubs were counted in each case with 0:3, so Nëntori still lost the title to Dinamo Tirana. For Partizani it was enough because of the deductions even only to fifth place. This decision of the association is not traceable today. However, it is strongly suspected that it was made ​​on the basis of government interference. The army club Dinamo had since 1960, no longer stood at the top, and now wanted the leadership to see Dinamo again at the top. Such a decision is unique in the history of football. Through them, Besa Kavaja and Skënderbeu Korçë postponed in the previous year seventh and eighth, to the third and fourth place behind Nëntori and the Master on green table. Points with Korca and Shkodra Vllaznia Partizani occupied with marksman king Medin Zhega sixth place.
