1998–99 Codan Ligaen season

The 1998/99 season was the first season of the Elite series under the name Codan Ligaen and thus the total of 14 host the highest Danish Hockey League. Masters were to total the sixth time in club history the Rødovre Mighty Bulls. The IC Gentofte had to withdraw for financial reasons from the league.

Mode

In the main round each of the ten teams played a total of 36 games. The top eight teams qualified for the second season phase. This was played in two groups of four teams, with the top two teams in each group qualified for the playoffs, where the Master was played. The four winners of the main round were given one or two bonus points. The two last placed the main round had to compete against the two best second- division club in the relegation. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.

Although the IC Gentofte could sporty secure the league in the relegation. Due to the tight financial situation but eventually had to give up his place in the Gentofte highest Danish league to Gladsaxe SF.
