The 106 Swiss football championship took place in 2002 /03. Swiss champion was the Grasshopper Club Zurich.
Mode
The championship was divided into two rounds. The preliminary round was played in the fall with 12 teams. In the final round played in the spring, the 8 best teams in the preliminary round against each other. For the final round of the points already made, were halved. The last four teams played in the Auf-/Abstiegsrunde with the four best teams in the National League B in order to remain in the National League A. By reducing the future Super League to 10 teams, only the two best teams in the Auf-/Abstiegsrunde could in play the following season in the top league.

Auf-/Abstiegsrunde
FC Aarau and FC St. Gallen remained in the Super League. The FC Lucerne and SR Delémont were relegated to the Challenge League future.
