2003 FIVB Women's World Cup

The Volleyball World Cup 2003 was the ninth edition of the competition. He was held in Japan between the 1st and the 15th of November. China won the title. This competition was the same as the qualification for the Olympic Games 2004.

  • People's Republic of China People's Republic of China and Korea South Korea as the winner and third place in the AFC Asian Cup 2003
  • United States of America and Cuba as finalists of the NORCECA Championship 2003
  • Brazil Brazil and Argentina as winner and runner-up of the South American Championship 2003
  • Egypt Egypt as the winner of the 2003 African Cup of Nations
  • Italy Italy and Dominican Republic at the invitation of the FIVB.

Mode

The twelve participants played four rounds, where they were informally divided into two groups. The system was " every man for himself ". The first three teams were given a room for the 2004 Olympic Games respectively.
