2003 ISAF Sailing World Championships

The first ISAF Sailing World Championships were held from September 11 to 24, 2003 in Cadiz on Spain's southern coast instead. The races were held around the Gulf of Cádiz in the sailing area.

A total of eleven competitions were held in various boat classes, four for men and women, as well as three open competitions. For each competition ten to twelve races were held including a final medal race. All competitions were held as a Fleet Race. At the competitions attended by more than 1450 sailors and 993 boats from 71 nations.

The world championships were also the main qualifying competitions for the sailing events at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. 75 % of all quota places were awarded here.

Results

The rankings in the various races of the competition will be converted into points. The result of the lowest ranking is not considered as a String result. The addition of the points determined by the final placement, the boat with the lowest score wins.
