2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships

The 3rd World Sailing Championships in 2011 were from 3 to December 18, 2011 in front of Perth on the west coast of Australia instead. They were by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF ) and organizes the Australian Sailing Federation. For sailing area belonged to the waters off the Bathers Bay and the Port of Fremantle. There competitions were held in the ten Olympic boat classes, six for men and four for women. For the first time a competition was organized as a match-race at the World Championships. It was attended by 789 sailors from 76 nations.

The world championships were also the main qualifier for the sailing events at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Results

The rankings in the various races of a competition have been converted into points. The result of the lowest ranking was not considered as a String result. The last regatta, called the medal race, counted twice. The addition of certain points on the final placement, the boat with the lowest score won. In the match race competition two round robin tournaments were first held. The top eight boats to these tournaments then determined in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, the final placement.
