2012 Indy Grand Prix of Alabama

The Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama 2012 took place on April 1 at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama, United States place and was the second race of the IndyCar Series season of 2012.

In the first Training Power set the fastest time ahead of his teammate Castroneves and Takuma Satō. The second training took place under rainy conditions. Satō posted the fastest time at the beginning of the training. Second was Sebastien Bourdais before Dixon. On the first day of practice engine at Oriol Servia was changed due to damage. The first part of the session was held in two groups. The six fastest drivers in each group came to the second segment. Power eventually won the race after a strong drive with the appropriate strategy. Dixon was second ahead of Castroneves with the most laps led. Graham Rahal and Pagenaud completed the top 5 It was the first top 5 result for Pagenaud. The top 10 completed Hinchcliffe, Conway, Barrichello, Bourdais and Dario Franchitti, who was driven past Marco Andretti shortly before race end. It was the first top- 10 ranking of Barrichello. With Bourdais first came a Lotus driver within the first ten to the finish.

Castroneves maintained the lead in the drivers' standings ahead of Dixon. Power moved up to third place. In the Manufacturers' Championship, the positions remained unchanged.
