- Emperor Augustus introduces a fixed monetary order. The system distinguishes gold coins ( Aureus ) Silver Coins ( Denaurius ), brass coins ( Sestertius, Dupondius ) and copper coins ( As). It acts in the whole of Europe until well into the modern era, before the Scotsman John Law in 1716 at the court of Louis XV. the first true paper money introduced. The coins all show the head of the ruler. They also symbolize the end of democracy in the Roman Empire. The coins circulating around the world to Scandinavia, in the Empire of China, India and Africa.
