6-Meter-Band
The 6- meter band is the frequency range of 50 MHz to 52 MHz (Europe ) or 50 MHz to 54 MHz (USA ), use the various radio services, in addition to the ( outgoing ) broadcasting mostly military radio services. The Amateur Radio Service has tolerated a secondary status or is in Europe. In the U.S., radio remote controls are also operated in the 6 meter band; this 10 channels are assigned.
6 -meter amateur band
The 6- meter amateur band, depending on the International Amateur Radio Union ( IARU ) Region 2 MHz or 4 MHz wide and has due to its wavelength both short- wave properties as well as typical FM properties. There are reflections on the ionosphere possible, both the E- layer as well as on the F- layer, here, however, almost exclusively in the sunspot maximum.
Band Plan
Recommended by amateur radio organizations and therefore not legally binding band plan is as follows:

Situation in Germany
Since 25 August 2006, new regulations for the operation on the 6-meter amateur radio band (frequency range from 50.08 to 51.0 MHz) apply. Radio operation is permitted only of solid, officially reported amateur stations of the Class A certificate. Only the modulation types J3E and A1A (SSB and CW ) can be used with a power of 25 W ERP. There is only horizontal antenna polarization allowed. During radio operation, the radio station has to be reached by phone. A logbook must be kept.
It allocations for three radio beacons in Germany were issued, all of which transmit on 50.083 MHz with a time offset in A1A.
On May 23, 2013 were by the Federal Network Agency of the band range from 50.03 to 51.0 MHz for testing purposes until 31 December 2013 [ deprecated] for all modes with a bandwidth of up to 12 kHz released.
Situation in Austria
The maximum permitted transmission power in Austria is 100 W; also mobile operation is permitted. The restriction of the operating mode has been canceled and unmanned stations ( repeaters, beacons and digipeater ) allowed.
Since the transmitter Jauerling is on the tape I no longer in operation, all of which were to protect this channel restrictions imposed from the November 12, 2008 repealed by the amendment to the Amateur Radio Ordinance.
