Abererch

Abererch, Welsh Afon - ERCH is a small town and a former independent municipality on the river Erch on the Lleyn Peninsula (Pen Llŷn ) in the County of Gwynedd, Wales. The place belongs to the former cantref Eifionydd. Since 1934 Abererch is incorporated in Llannor. It is a place where the majority of Welsh is spoken. In Abererch there is a kindergarten, a primary school and a railway station.

The station is located on the railway line from the beach in the village and on to Pwllheli, the district capital. Originally the railway line from the Aberystwyth and Welsh Coast Railways, a branch line of the Cambrian Railways ( Llinell Cambria ) was operated and was tied to the power of the Great Western Railway. After nationalization it was part of the London Midland Region of British Railways until it was re- privatized as Cambrian Coast Railways. The station is unoccupied trains stop here only as needed.

After the collection of poems Englynion y Beddeu ( " The verses of the tombs " ) should be in Abererch the grave of King Rhydderch Hael of Alt Clut. The localization has so far been unsuccessful.
