Abraham Løkin

Abraham Løkin ( born June 16, 1959 as Abraham Hansen in Fuglafjørður ) is a former Faroese football player and coach. The Faroe Islands Football Association named him as Faroese Representative to the UEFA Jubilee 52 Golden Player.

Clubs

Løkin began his career at ÍF Fuglafjørður, with whom in 1979 he was national champion. In 1981 he moved to Sweden to IK Sleipner in the Division 2 and returned after a year returned to the Faroe Islands to NSÍ Runavík before it, except for a single use for ÍF 1985 signing with Odense BK and in the 1st Division, the then Denmark's top division, ran aground. In 1999 he returned briefly back to ÍF Fuglafjørður before he spent the last years at NSÍ Runavík in the first and second team, for which he completed a few games per season. In 2003, he finished with 44 years finally his career as a player.

National

Løkin ran between 1988 and 1994 to 22 times for the national team, but remained without a goal. His first game on August 24, 1988 against Iceland in Akranes, which was lost 0-1, was also the first official international match of the Faroe Islands. Coaching career

Løkin acted in 1984 as player-coach for NSÍ Runavík and was replaced after the seventh match of Asbjørn Mikkelsen. Personal

By profession, Abraham Løkin originally food technician. He worked as a quality controller in the fishing industry. His sons Bogi (* 1988) and Karl ( * 1991) are also football players. Bogi reached on 11 October 2008, the 1-0 lead in a new version of the classic Faroe Austria and since then is considered a " national hero ".
