Aci Trezza
Aci Trezza is a fraction of the municipality of Aci Castello in the Italian region of Sicily. The municipality is situated on the east coast of Sicily on the Ionian Sea. Off the coast are the Cyclops.
History
Aci Trezza was originally a small fishing village that has evolved due to the beautiful beach on an excursion destination of the inhabitants of Catania.
1948 La terra trema, the film was shot with local actors in Aci Trezza, directed by Luchino Visconti. The film is based on Giovanni Verga 's novel Galatea Sea, which depicts the hard life of fishermen. Also a part of Vergas stories of Cavalleria rusticana ( Sicilian peasant stories ) refer to Aci Trezza. They served as the basis for the eponymous opera Cavalleria rusticana by Pietro Mascagni.
Attractions
At the Casa del Nespolo there is a small museum. From there, "Literary Tours" held to the scenes of the novel and the film.
