Acilia (gens)

Acilius ( feminine form Acilia ) was the noun of the gens Acilia, a plebeian family of the Roman Empire. The main branches of the family were the ( imperial ) Aviolae, the Balbi and especially the Glabriones that are witnessed by the 3rd century BC to the end of the 5th century AD.

A grave of Acilii Glabriones was found in 1888 in Rome. They had the 2nd century on the collis Hortulorum (now Pincio, north of the Quirinal and northeast of the Campus Martius ) a garden, the Horti Aciliorum.

In Rome there was a compitum Acilium, was settled on the 219 BC, the first Greek physician in Rome.
