The Bole International Airport ( IATA: ADD, ICAO: HAAB; formerly Haile Selassie I International Airport ) is an international commercial airport in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa. He serves as a hub of Ethiopian Airlines.
History
The airport was founded in 1961, created in the southeast of the city near the Bole district.
2003, a new terminal for international flights and a new 3800 m long airstrip was inaugurated. The new terminal is one of the largest in Africa and increased the airport's capacity from 500,000 to about 7 million passengers a year.

Terminal building
The Bole International Airport has two passenger terminals. Terminal 1 has four gates and is used for domestic and regional flights, Terminal 2 with seven gates serves international long-haul flights.
Start and runways
The airport has two runways and start with 3700 or 3800 meters in length, which are equipped with ILS.
Airlines and destinations
Addis Ababa serves as a hub of the national airline Ethiopian Airlines, which flies from here numerous regional and international destinations, including, for example, Dar Es Salaam, London, Beijing and Washington, DC. Additionally, other companies fly the airport primarily from Africa, the Middle East and Europe. The only goal in German-speaking is currently Frankfurt am Main, which is connected next to Ethiopian Airlines and Lufthansa regularly with Addis Ababa.
