Adrian Kivumbi Ddungu

Adrian Kivumbi Ddungu ( born July 15, 1923 in Ssango, Uganda, † December 30, 2009 in Kampala, Uganda) was the second Bishop of Masaka.

Life

Adrian Kivumbi Ddungu studied at Bukalasa seminar in Masaka. He received on 20 December 1952, the ordination.

Pope John XXIII. appointed him on 11 November 1961 Bishop of Masaka. He participated in the Second Vatican Council.

Bishop Ddungu was President of the Episcopal Conference of Uganda from 1977 until 1982. He was chairman of the Commission for the mission in the Episcopal Conference. He was involved again for the people of Uganda, especially in the fight against HIV / AIDS - even against the views of the Roman Curia. He struggled against, among others, the amendments in the Land Law.

On January 10, 1998 John Paul II accepted his resignation age-related.

He died of a stroke in Nsambya Hospital in Kampala, Uganda.
