Adrian van Hooydonk

Adrian van Hooydonk ( born June 21, 1964 in Echt, Limburg) is a Dutch automobile designer.

He studied at the Technical University of Delft in the Netherlands province of South Holland and later at the Art Center Europe in Vevey, Switzerland, until 1992. Since 2000, he was head of BMW DesignworksUSA Industrial Design Centre, before BMW 's chief designer in 2009.

On 3 February 2009, the former BMW chief designer Chris Bangle announced that he give up both his position at BMW and the auto industry all rely.

Van Hooydonk spearheaded the development of the BMW E65 ( 7 Series ), for its design, however, his former boss Bangle was already criticized in his early days at BMW. The information presented after the change models BMW F01 ( 7 Series ) and BMW F07 ( 5-GT ) were still primarily developed by Bangle. Only the BMW F10 ( 5 Series ) was created under van Hooydonks sole leadership.
