Afghanistan at the 1980 Summer Olympics

Afghanistan took after a break of eight years at the XXII. Olympic Summer Games in Moscow for the eighth time at Summer Games in part 1980. The Soviet invasion of the country eight months before the Games had taken as a reason for a boycott of 64 states. A total of eleven Afghan athletes participated in the competitions. They went in two sports at the start.
