Ahmed Hassan

Ahmed Hassan Kamel (Arabic أحمد حسن, DMG Aḥmad Ḥasan; born 2 May 1975 in Maghagha, Minya Governorate ) is an Egyptian footballer who is since summer 2011 at Zamalek SC under contract. The midfielder took the national team between 1998 and 2010 participated in seven African Championship and has since February 27, 2012 World 's most capped player.

Club career

Ahmed Hassan began in his hometown located on the Nile Maghagha playing football. His professional career started Hassan in his youth club Aswan Club. After a year, however, he left the club in the direction Ismaily SC, a slightly more successful club. After the Africa Cup 1998 Hassan joined the Turkish league to Kocaelispor. 2000 then he moved to Denizlispor. In 2001, Hassan followed his team-mate Abdel Zaher El- Saqua to Gençlerbirliği. RSC Anderlecht

However, Hassan decided for RSC Anderlecht and eventually switched free transfer in the Belgian league. With Anderlecht Hassan succeeded immediately qualifying for the UEFA Champions League. In the middle of RSC Anderlecht, he formed a unit with Lucas Biglia and Jan Polák. Eventually he gave to the beginning of the season 2007/2008 announced that this would be his last for Anderlecht. His family returned in 2007 to Egypt. In the election for the Belgian Golden Shoe, finishing second behind Steven Defour.

Return to Egypt

To end his career, he returned to the Egyptian League and signed a two-year contract, which runs from May 2008 at Al -Ahly Cairo. In his first two games for the club he scored two goals.

Career in the national team

On 29 December 1995 Hassan graduated with Ruud Krol in the 1-2 defeat against Ghana, his first cap for the national team of Egypt. In the 1996 Africa Cup of Hassan was indeed in the squad of the Pharaohs, but did not play.
