Air Seychelles

Air Seychelles is the national airline of the Seychelles, based in Victoria and base on the Seychelles airport.

History

Air Seychelles was first established in 1977 for domestic flights only. In 1983 she began to record international flights to Frankfurt and London by Air Seychelles procures a lease agreement with British Caledonian Airways, a Douglas DC10. 1987 bought by Varig Airlines Boeing 707-320 two. In June 1989, Air Seychelles buys their first most modern aircraft, a Boeing 767 -200ER. 2012 took over Etihad Airways 40 percent stake in Air Seychelles. Since then, the airline takes part in their frequent flyer program Etihad Guest and it is intense codeshare operated. For the long -haul flights of Air Seychelles, two Airbus A330- 200 of Etihad, however, used in painting the Air Seychelles.

Destinations

In January 2012, Air Seychelles has its long-haul routes set to Europe, as two of its three long-haul jets were retired. Since then she flies in cooperation with Etihad Airways to Abu Dhabi yet, Johannesburg, Mauritius and Hong Kong.

Within the archipelago is Praslin up to 20 times a day served, even in code-share with Air Berlin. Fleet

As of November 2013, the fleet of Air Seychelles consists of three planes:

  • 2 Airbus A330 -200 ( operated by Etihad Airways )
  • 1 DHC- 6 Twin Otter
  • 2 DHC- 6 Twin Otter ( by mid 2015)

The historic fleet include Boeing 707, 737, 757 and 767 and Cessna 172 and Shorts 360

Indian Ocean Pass

The Indian Ocean Pass is a joint venture of Air Seychelles, Air Austral and Air Mauritius. The three companies have merged their transport networks in the region and thus allow passengers to fly with an airline ticket different islands in the Indian Ocean.
