Airblue

Airblue (proper spelling: airblue ) is a private Pakistani airline based in Karachi and based on the Karachi airport.

History

Airblue was founded in 2003 by former Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and adopted on 18 June 2004 with three leased Airbus A320 -200 to operate on. During the first year, the airline was so popular that they came into direct competition with the state-owned Pakistan International Airlines. Today it is the second largest airline with a 20% share of the domestic transport of Pakistan.

Objectives

Airblue offers several domestic destinations and flights to Oman and the United Arab Emirates as well as to Manchester. The first foreign destination was on August 14, 2005 Dubai.

Incidents

Airblue recorded in its history an incident with fatalities:

  • On July 28, 2010 against 9.45 clock local time, crashed Airblue flight 202, an Airbus A321 -200 with the registration AP- BJB, Karachi coming when landing on the Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad Margalla Hills from the ridge of the. All 146 passengers and six crew members were killed. At the time of the accident were difficult weather conditions with dense fog.
