Al-Muti

( Abū ʾ l - Qāsim al -Fadl ibn al - Muktadir ) Al- Muti ʿ li - ʾ llāh (Arabic المطيع لله الفضل بن المقتدر al - Muti ʿ li - ʾ llāh al -Fadl b. Al - Muqtadir, DMG al - Muti ʿ li - ʾ llāh. al -Fadl b al - Muqtadir; * before 946, † 974 ) was the twenty-third Abbasid Caliph ( 946-974 ).

With Abū ʾ l - Qāsim al -Fadl ibn al - Muktadir al - Muti ʿ li - ʾ llāh after the deposition of al - Mustakfi ( 944-946 ), a son of al - Muktadir was enthroned by the Buyids. These practiced since 945 of the protectorate over the Abbasids. Especially as their rule under Adud ad-Daula ( 949-983 ) reached its peak, also threatened the abolition of the Abbasid Caliphate and the establishment of a Shiite caliphate by the Buyids.

For the insignificance of the Caliphs is the fact that only four caliphs who ruled during the hundred year rule of the Buyids in Baghdad. Their predecessors had been able to assert itself on the throne only a few years. He will be succeeded by his son Buyids At- Tā ʾ i ʿ li - ʾ amri llāh ( 974-991 ) was determined.
