Alain Penz

Alain Penz ( born October 30, 1947 in Sallanches ) is a French former alpine skier.

In the Ski World Cup, he won five races ( four slaloms and giant slalom ). In the 1968/69 season and in the season 1969/70, he came fifth overall. He also won 1969/70 the slalom World Cup, tied with Patrick Russell and Henri Bréchu.

Less successful was he in the Olympics he finished eighth in the slalom, ninth in 1972 in the giant slalom in 1968. Also in World Championships, he never won a medal at the 1970 World Ski Championships he finished fifth in the slalom and ninth in the giant slalom.

From 1969 to 1972, Penz was seven times French Champion (three times in the combination and two each in the slalom and giant slalom ). End of the 1971/72 season he stepped back from ski racing.
