Albany Creek, Queensland

Albany Creek is a suburb of Brisbane, the capital of the Australian state of Queensland. The population in 2011 was 15,860 people.

Albany Creek State High School and has two state primary schools. The town also has a shopping center, fast food restaurants and a library are available.

The Australian pop duo The Veronicas grew up in Albany Creek.

History

The suburb of Albany Creek was originally founded at the intersection of two Aboriginal streets. The main road was the main route to the north of Brisbane and is still known as Old Northern Road. The second road linked the Old Northern Road with the Little Cabbage Tree Creek at Aspley and on to Downfall Creek in Chermside. Today, this trail runs along the Albany Creek Road and Gympie Road.

Albany Creek was originally under the name Chinaman's Creek known before 1888 received its current name.
