Geography

The region is located southeast of the state on the coast and on the south by Brisbane City.

Administrative headquarters of the LGA is the district Strathpine with about 9300 inhabitants. History

Today's Moreton Bay Region was founded in 2008 from the City of Redcliffe and the Shires both Caboolture and Pine Rivers.

Management

The Moreton Bay Regional Council has 13 members. Twelve Councillor shall be elected by the inhabitants of the twelve divisions ( constituencies ). The Council President and Mayor ( Mayor ) is also elected by all residents of the region.
