Albert Hammond, Jr.

Albert Hammond Jr. ( born April 9, 1980 in Los Angeles ) is an American musician and member of the band The Strokes. He is the son of singer and songwriter Albert Hammond.

Life

Hammond was born on April 9, 1980 in Los Angeles, making it next to Fabrizio Moretti was one of two members of the band The Strokes which not born in New York. First acquaintance with Julian Casablancas, the lead singer of the Strokes, he made at the age of 13 years at the Swiss elite school Le Rosey. When he reunited with this 1998 New York, it came with him, his former school friends Nick Valensi, Nikolai Fraiture and Fabrizio Moretti of The Strokes establishing. Hammond plays the Strokes usually the rhythm guitar and takes only a few songs, such as in "Last Nite ", the lead guitar.

On 13 October 2006 was released by the label " Rough Trade " his first solo album " Yours To Keep " it next to the bandmates Casablancas, other celebrities, such as Sean Lennon and Ben Kweller represented. Behind the drums sat Matt Romano, the bass played Josh Lattanzi. The first single " Everyone Gets A Star" was already available from 4 September iTunes.

End of October 2007 Hammond began with the studio recording his second solo album ¿Cómo Te Llama? , Which was released in July 2008. Subsequently Hammond came to " Viva La Vida " tour as support for the European concerts of Coldplay.

Six years later ( 2013) Albert Hammond Jr. took on his third and last solo album, also called AHJ.
