Alberto ChaÃça
Chaíça Alberto (Alberto Francisco Cansado Chaíça; born September 17, 1973 in Caparica, Almada ) is a Portuguese long- distance runner who specializes in the marathon.
In 2002, he debuted at the Berlin Marathon, finishing in 14th place in 2:12:02 h following year, he was national champion in the 10,000 -meter run and finished fourth in the marathon at the World Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis in his personal best time of 2:09:25 h
In 2004 he was eighth in each Seoul International Marathon and the Marathon of the Olympic Games in Athens. A 45th place finish at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki was followed by an eighth place at the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 and number 22 in the 2007 World Championships in Osaka.
