Aleksandr Gorelik

Alexander Gorelik Judajewitsch (Russian Александр Юдаевич Горелик; born August 9, 1945 in Moscow, † 27 September 2012 in Tutschkowo, Moscow Oblast ) was a Russian figure skater, who started in pair skating for the Soviet Union.

His pair of running career began with Tatiana Gorelik Scharanowa. With it, he finished seventh at the European Championships in 1964.

Then Gorelik stepped to the side of Tatyana Zhuk. With it, he won the bronze medal in 1965 immediately both at the European Championships as well as the World Cup, both times in victories Lyudmila Belousova and Oleg of Protopopov. 1966 improved Gorelik and Shuk and were in Bratislava Vice - European Champion and Vice World Champion in Davos behind their compatriots. The same result they achieved in their last appearance at the World Championships in 1968 in Geneva and at the 1968 Olympic Games in Grenoble, where they won the silver medal behind Belousova and Protopopov.

In 1969 Tatyana Zhuk was pregnant. Then she ended her amateur career to the chagrin of Alexander Gorelik. After the attempt to form a pair with Irina Rodnina failed, he ended his career. Later he worked as an actor and also appeared for a short time with Shuk on in ice revues. He coached the Soviet figure skating team at the Olympic Games in 1976.
