Russian Figure Skating Championships
The list of Russian and Soviet champions in figure skating lists the Russian and Soviet figure skating champion and the second and third place winners.
The Russian Figure Skating Championships are organized by the Russian Figure Skating Association national tournament, which is held annually to determine the best figure skaters of Russia in the men 's, women's, pair and Eistanzkonkurrenz. Besides the determination of the Russian master's championships also serve as a qualification criterion for the compilation of the Russian team in international tournaments such as the World Championships or Olympic Games.
The first unofficial Russian Championship was held in St. Petersburg on March 5, 1878 winner was Sresnevski VI. 1897, the first official championship was held in Saint Petersburg. Alexander Panshin was the first Russian champion. From 1905 there was a separate women's competition, in 1920 a pair of competitors and from 1958 a Eistanzkonkurrenz.
Between 1920 and 1992 Soviet championships were held instead of the Russian Championships. These are also listed here.
