Alexander Vlassov

Alexander Vlasov (Russian Александр Власов; born February 25, 1956) is a former Russian figure skater, who started in pair skating for the Soviet Union.

His skating partner was Irina Worobjowa. His first international appearance was the couple who was coached by Tamara Moskvina, at the World Cup in 1974, which ended it in sixth place. In 1976, Vlasov and Worobjowa in the absence of Irina Rodnina and Alexander Zaitsev Soviet masters. This year, she won her first international medals. Both at the European Championships in Geneva as well at the World Championships in Gothenburg she won bronze behind Rodnina and Zaitsev and Romy Kermer and Rolf Oesterreich from the GDR. The Olympic Games in Innsbruck, they finished in fourth place due to some error. In 1977 she was in Helsinki Vice - European Champion and Vice World Champion in Tokyo behind their outstanding compatriots. Worobjowa later changed her partner and started on the side of Igor Lissowski.

Vlasov now lives in the United States. His daughter Julia is Vlasov, the Junior World Champion in pair skating in 2006.
