Alexei Tereshchenko

Alexei Vladimirovich Tereshchenko (Russian Алексей Владимирович Терещенко; born December 16, 1980 in Mozhaisk ) is a Russian ice hockey player who currently plays for Ak Bars Kazan in the Kontinental Hockey League.

Career

Alexei Tereshchenko comes from the offspring of HK Dynamo Moscow and graduated in the season 1998/99 his first games in the Russian Super League. NHL Entry Draft 2000, the Dallas Stars selected him in the third round of the 91st place. Both 2000 and 2005 he was with Dynamo Russian champion before he moved to Ak Bars Kazan in the summer of 2005. With Kazan, he was again in 2006 Russian champion, winning the IIHF European Champions Cup in 2007. Following this success, he was taken from Salavat Yulaev Ufa under contract. With Ufa he reached the end of the season 2007 /08 the championship of the Super League, but returned in the summer of 2009 back to Kazan.

Internationally

2008 and 2009 Tereshchenko became world champion with the Russian national team. Previously, he had come internationally used only in the U-20 World Championship 2000, where he won the silver medal.
