Alfredo Esteves

Alfredo Esteves Mozinho ( born April 6, 1976 in Lisbon, Portugal; often Alfredo short only ) is an East Timorese football players. He also holds a Portuguese passport.

The defender played since his youth until 2003 when the Portuguese club Grupo Deportivo Gafanha. Esteves Then moved on to the New Hampshire Phantoms in the United States. There, however, he did not play and, after a few months returned to Portugal to União Desportiva da Tocha.

In 2004, Esteves joined the FC Oliveira do Hospital. Here he played 28 times and scored one goal. He belonged to the leadership of the team players. His performance was also the Scouts of the ambitious second division CD Aves not hidden that the player at the start of the 2005/06 season drew to Vila das Aves. At the end of the season Aves was promoted to the Super League; Esteves had brought it but only on a bet.

2006 decided Alfredo Esteves, another attempt in the U.S. to do. He signed the second division club Minnesota Thunder, for whom he played until 2007. Since January 2008, the defender is at Wollongong FC in the second Australian national league under contract.

After the independence of East Timor, the home of his parents, and the recognition of Federação de Futebol de Timor- Leste by FIFA, Alfredo Esteves decided aground for the East Timorese national team. So far (as of December 2006), he played four games for the selection of his country and is their captain.

Besides his native language Portuguese Esteves also speaks English, Spanish and Italian.
