Ali Saïdi-Sief

Ali Saïdi - Sief (Arabic علي سعيدي سياف, ʿ Alī Sa ʿ DMG Īdī Siyāf; born March 15, 1978 in Constantine ) is an algerian middle and long distance runner.

In the Africa Championships he won the 1998 Bronze 1500 m and 2000 m Gold 5000

His biggest success Saïdi - Sief at the Summer Olympic Games 2000 in Sydney. Behind the Ethiopians Million Wolde he won the silver medal in the 5000 meters.

At the World Athletics Championships in Edmonton in 2001, he won first in the 5000 -meter run again the silver medal. When he was positive tests performed after his match on the steroid nandrolone, the World Association of Athletics Federations recognized him the medal again and detained him for two years.

After his doping suspension Saïdi - Sief 2004 again took part in the Olympic Games in Athens and celebrated the tenth place over 5000 meters a successful comeback. At the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005, he was over this distance fifth.
