All in a Night is an American feature film from the year 1961. The film is based on the play All in a Night 's Work by Owen Elford.

Action

Katie Robbins works for a publishing house from Manhattan. While she is spending her holidays in Palm Beach, she saves a millionaire from drowning. The grateful millionaire is intrusive and Katie flees from him. Wearing only a towel and her earrings she suddenly ends up in a hotel room where a dead man lies. When she flees also out of this room, watching her the hotel detective. The dead man is just Katie's boss who is still asleep to gently with a smile on his lips. This gets Katie suspected to have had an affair with the man and that she is now blackmailing the publishing house. On the run from the detective she loses one of her earrings and is thereby identified as an employee of the publisher through the new publishing boss Tony Ryder. Tony Ryder is a looser playboy who takes over the business as a nephew of the late owner. The publishing company is in financial difficulties and fears the credit required for the future of the company by a scandal involving the dead owner fails to obtain. When Tony realizes that assistant Katie is the potential blackmailer, he tried it first with a salary increase of blackmail hold. He also tries to hook up with the millionaire Warren Jr. Kingsley. However, this fails. Now he seeks himself to Katie. He invites you for an evening in his apartment. There he makes them drunk and flirting with her. However, when he expresses his suspicions about the blackmail, Katie goes on a rampage and leaves him. Tony realizes that Katie is innocent and that he gave himself in love with her.
