Aller Valley Railway

The Allertalbahn was a railway line with regional significance in Lower Saxony. It ran along the river Aller, joining Gifhorn about Celle, Schwarmstedt, Rethem (Aller) and Wahnebergen with Verden ( Aller).

Course

The Celle railway reached and left the track in a southerly direction, so that through trains had to change their direction of travel there. Thus the Allertalbahn was divided into two branches without continuous passenger traffic, which is also reflected in the fact that the eastern part of the route number Gifhorn 1724 the western part after Wahnebergen was assigned the number 1721. In Celle passed transition options to the Osthannoverschen railways, the railway route between Hanover and Hamburg, the railway line Celle- Brunswick and to cross train Celle- Taught.
