Allodin Fothergill

Allodin Fothergill (born 7 February 1987 in Saint Catherine, Jamaica ) is a Jamaican sprinter who specializes in the 400 -meter run.

Career

In 2006, he finished third in the 400-meter final of the IAAF World Junior Championships in Beijing with a time of 46.68 s sixth place.

At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 he started in the run for the Jamaican 4 x 400 - meter relay team that reached the third place in the final. Fothergill was not used in the final run, where the Jamaicans came only in eighth place.

End of June 2009 Fothergill tested positive for the stimulant methylxanthine at the Jamaican Championships in Kingston. First, he was acquitted because the substance not on the prohibited list of WADA, but was later occupied by a 3- month ban because the substance has a structure similar to a banned doping agents. His start at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin in 2009 was withdrawn as a result thereof.

On 27 August 2010 he was at the Diamond League meeting in Brussels over 400 meters in a time of 45.44 s third party.

At the World Athletics Championships 2011 in Daegu, he started along with Jermaine Gonzales, Riker Hylton and Leford Green for the Jamaican 4 x 400 - meter relay team in the final and won with a time of 3:00,10 min the bronze medal.
