Aloïs Catteau

Alois Catteau ( born August 11, 1877 in Tourcoing, † November 2, 1939 in Menen ) was a Belgian racing cyclist.

His professional career began in 1903 with the start of the Tour de France in team La Française. Already on the first leg, he reached the seventh place. It was his best individual placing at the Tour. In the end, he finished 10th in the overall standings. The following year he took third place at the end of the Tour de France. In 1905 he founded his own cycling team Catteau Cycles and started with this again in the Tour de France. He finished at the end of the 11th Place. The following year he drove for the team Alcyon - Dunlop and drove tour to 6th place overall. In the itinerary Paris - Tourcoing he finished third. In 1907 he started without a team as a single driver and reached in the overall standings of the Tour de France in 1907 to ninth place. In 1908 he was again in the service of Alcyon - Dunlop and even launched one last time at the Tour de France. However, at the end he finished only 21st place overall. Then he started only at smaller road races before 1911 to go to another unsuccessful attempt at the Tour de France ended his pro career.
