Älpelekopf (Gerstruben)

View from the southwest to the Älpelekopf Himmelschrofenzug. Peaks from left to right: Rear Wildgundkopf ( on the left side ), Front Wildgundkopf ( the seemingly highest peak ), Klupper (the lowest peak ), Himmelschrofen ( the peak in the right area )

The Älpelekopf is a 1,606 m high mountain in the Allgäu Alps. The minor peak lies in the ridge that runs from the head to the southwest reefs and falls with steep, rocky interspersed Schrofenflanken to the west and south. Together with the reef head, cock head and Wannenkopf forms of Älpelekopf the framing of the boiler of the Gerstruber Älpeles, the pasture area of a long- abandoned Alpe, which is now re- used by the northerly Peeping Alpe.

On the Älpelekopf leads no marked trail. You can reach the Gerstruber Älpele ( sure-footedness and mountaineering experience required) pathless him. The Älpelekopf is touristy insignificant.
