Geography

Ammerndorf located in Rangau about 16 km west of Nuremberg, 24 km north-east of Ansbach and 49 kilometers east of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Through the town, the Beavers, which opens in Fuerth in the Rednitz flows.

History

The place was first mentioned in documents in 1246. The Burggraf of Nuremberg, Konrad I, renounced after a prolonged dispute with the monastery Heilsbronn on the goods and persons. Pope Innocent IV confirmed in 1249 the monastery property. Ammerndorf part of the 1791 acquired by Prussia Hohenzollern Principality of Ansbach, which lay in the Frankish Empire Circle from 1500, and had the right to hold markets with extensive own rights. As part of the Prussian Principality of Ansbach Ammerndorf fell in the Treaty of Paris ( February 1806 ) by exchange to the Kingdom of Bavaria.
