Geographical location
Obermichelbach is located on a plateau between the valleys of Herzogenaurach in the north, the Regnitz the east and the Zenn in the south.

History
The parish Herzogenaurach in 1337 transferred 22 places the Holy Spirit Hospital Nuremberg, including Obermichelbach, Untermichelbach and Rothenberg. Michel Bach was first performed in 1370 in the land register of the castle county Nuremberg. In Salbuch the Office Cadolzburg 1414 the names of the subjects of the loan subject to viscount were called Nuremberg in Obermichelbach. In Salbuch the Office Cadolzburg 1464 Obermichelbach, Nydernmichelbach and Rotperg were called. In a description of Nuremberg and its surrounding areas in 1504 were also Obermichelbach, sub -Michel Bach, called to Rotenperg. During the Thirty Years War in 1634 Obermichelbach and Rothenberg burned down. With the fur Schnitzer Thomas Haindel the first schoolmaster was mentioned in 1664. In the upper Official Description of Johann Georg Vetter 1732 Obermichelbach, Untermichelbach and Rothenberg have been described. An engraving by Obermichelbach from 1759 is the oldest surviving picture of the place.
1792 was the place with the Principality of Ansbach, which was from 1500 in the Frankish Empire circle to Prussia in 1806 and incorporated in the Kingdom of Bavaria. From Obermichelbach, Untermichelbach and Rothenberg was born in 1808 the municipality Obermichelbach. The community was in 1835 with cadastral parcels and house numbers. There were 35 farms. Obermichelbach came in 1862 to the newly created Royal county of Fürth. The planning of a railway line from the station Siegelsdorf about Obermichelbach to Herzogenaurach in 1883 definitively rejected. In 1869 the office of mayor was due to a new church order created and in 1870 a local committee. 1909 Obermichelbach received a public telephone point and 1912 connection to the electricity network. In Obermichelbach a meetinghouse was built in 1911. A new municipal code that self-government was introduced in 1919 and the church board replaced by a municipal council. The school community took over in 1921 the school building of the church foundation. A post office was established in 1936. In 1942 two church bells were delivered and melted down. In 1943 there were air raids on top and Untermichelbach. On April 17, 1945, the troops of the United States Army occupied the three places in the municipality. Land consolidation was completed in 1967. The elementary school Obermichelbach was dissolved in 1969 and incorporated in the Federal School Veitsbronn. In 1974, the Evangelical Kindergarten was inaugurated. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria Obermichelbach stepped out with cloth Bach and Pusch village in 1980 from the administrative community Veitsbronn to establish the administrative community Obermichelbach - Puschendorf - Tuchenbach. This was established in 1998 by the emergence of the community Puschendorf to manage Community Obermichelbach - Tuchenbach; the administrative headquarters was moved from Tuchenbach after Obermichelbach 2002. In 1979, the multi-purpose building was inaugurated with town hall and fire station. In 1997, the Citizens' Hall was built in the town hall is built. Religions
The Chapel of St. Jacob was first mentioned in 1414. 1483 two altars in the church of St. Jacob were ordained in Obermichelbach. Obermichelbach was 1528 Protestant church of the Holy Spirit Hospital and retired from the parish of Herzogenaurach, the pastor received in 1566 a separate rectory. The municipality was in possession of various Nuremberg patrician families, since 1504 was in Obermichelbach the Linck family of Schwabach as landlords detectable. From the crest we took over the division in the oblique section battlements. The red plow represents agriculture, the wave beams for Michel Bach, which gives the place its name. The silver and black are the colors of the Principality of Ansbach.
Obermichelbach received pursuant to a decision of the municipal council with a Letter from the Government of Middle Franconia awarded on 13 October 1977, the right to bear a coat of arms and a flag.
